Comment on Job Centre New Deal waste of time? Play Games by kcam001
Hi folks. Just discovered this site today and I really do sympathise with the people on here as I have been unfortunate to be out of work for around 2 years myself. The job centre in my area of inverness although not as bad as some that i’ve read about on here still miss the point that not all people on JSA, incapacity or new deal are lazy, drunken drug addicts and that a good number of these people genuinly want to work. They also don’t understand that for someone to get off and to stay off benifits the vacancies they apply for must be sustainable and reasonably secure. Work experience in my opinion should only be used for those who have never been in work i.e. school leavers to prepare them for the working environment or those who want to do it off thier own back just to get them out of the house whilst they look for work and should not be forced. One thing I have discovered is that if you do things of your own back you get good results so i can now say if you are looking for work and only if you can afford to do so and you have savings behind you, do not use the jobcentre for anything else other than looking for work whether via job points or the web. As for CV’s and coverletters if you go to recruitment sites such as jobsite and S1jobs.com they will be able to build a CV for you and you can add to it at any time. Also and I know this sounds like just another course centre, If you’re close to a Pitman training building they will offer help with this as well and the best bit is that they are not tied to the jobcentre. Sorry if this is too long but hope it helps the genuine folk out there

Juniper Training, now i2i Tamworth (same staff and management), started handing out questionnaires about job seeker’s sexual activities, how many times they engage in intercourse, whether they had difficulty in performing, etc etc. one victim of this bizarre ‘grooming’, went to the press, it received quite a bit of publicity.
The centre was closed down, but the staff reopened it under a different name i2i
